The Moose is Loose!

I had to steal that tagline from my dad, he always comes up with funny sayings and I couldn’t help but use it ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s been awhile since I have given you an update our our new frozen yogurt store and I apologize for that –duty calls and I have been a bit pre-occupied! I have to admit, I have seriously missed blogging, creating new recipes and of course, all of you lovely readers but I haven’t exactly had much time to think about much else than our little business ๐Ÿ™‚

The Frozen Moose officially opened on Valentine’s Day. We passed the health inspection the day before and rushed to get the dining area ready, the kitchen stocked and the machines full of yogurt for opening day.

The last two weeks have been a blur to say the least but I do not have one regret. I have never eaten so much frozen yogurt in my life, never worked so hard for anything and never been so proud of how far we have come. Though the first two weeks have been pedal-to-the-metal, fast-paced and very sleep deprived, our business is flourishing, yogurt is being sold and we are receiving positive feedback on our Facebook page! I am more than thrilled with the support from our families, the fabulous community of Helena and my hard-working employees. Without a doubt, Chris and I areย convinced that Helena is the perfect place for our store and we know deep down that this is where we are supposed to be. That’s a good feeling ๐Ÿ™‚

Business was slow the first few days but picked up gradually until we hit full speed last weekend! We encountered a few minor hiccups such as running out of change in the register and machines running slow and running extremely low on yogurt but overall the first week went fairly smoothly.

Here are a few more photos of the store….

Customized graphics for the fronts of the machines…we look official, don’t we?
ย Soft seating with comfy couches and an electric fireplace that gives off heat! (Notice what show is on…I love Friends…)

ย Look at our cute military hats!

Trash cans…I had to insert a little humor ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. I am so excited for you!!! Your shop is seriously adorable… Helena Montana? I ask because yes we are in Germany but we’re military and travel so you never know! ๐Ÿ˜‰

So glad your hard work is paying off, seems you are getting a lot of joy from all that blurry craziness!

    • Thanks so much Jen ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes, Helena MT! If you are EVER in the area, I would just love it if you stopped by while traveling! How is Germany this time of year? Still super cold? We went Thanksgiving before last and had such a wonderful time!

  2. Congratulations on your shop! If I lived anywhere remotely nearby I’d be there in a heartbeat – it looks like you’ve set up quite a cozy spot for frozen yogurt!

  3. OMG, you look so official, it’s not even funny! What an awesome, awesome store! I never imagined that it would look that incredibly good! Now I want to go even more! Wow! I just can’t believe it. You guys must’ve worked terribly hard, but I mean, look at you now. Unbelievable!

I wish you and Chris all the success in the world. May that moose grow strong and solid!

Oh, and I have a request… how ’bout making us drool a little and show us what a nice, big serving of that delicious frozen yogurt looks like? ๐Ÿ˜‰

ps… Friends has to be one of the best sitcoms EVER! Totally agree!

  4. Ohmygoodness, girl–it’s SO official!!!!! I am soooooooo excited for you–here’s to an awesome year ๐Ÿ™‚ xoxo! P.S. You still need to cash in for your prize!

  5. Haha. Moose droppings. That’s what I’m going to remember the most from this post. Moose droppings! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m a bit late but congratulations! I’ve never seen a place like that. I’m happy business has picked up and that you’re showing Friends despite all the Friends-haters out there. I feel comforted whenever I see it on.

  6. Congratz on the flourishing of your new business!
Hmm…makes me want to open a cupcakery or bakery, something I’ve thought would be fun and follow a little of the thoughts I’ve had of opening one.

    • thanks so much Kathy! If I have any advice it would be to pursue the cupcakery or bakery if you are really set on it – it is SO rewarding to have your own business… plus if you work for yourself its YOURS and makes all the hard work worth it…it’s wonderful to have something to show for your sweat and tears ๐Ÿ™‚ Keep me posted if you decide to move forward in your business venture!
